Kickstart Scheme Contract Template

WHAT'S THE KICKSTART SCHEME?
The Kickstart Scheme is a £2 billion fund to create hundreds of thousands of high quality 6-month work placements for young people, fully funded by the Government. So, you can have people work for you, and receive funding from the Goverment to pay for it.
However, there are a few stipulations which employers need to adhere to in order to receive the wage subsidy. The Kickstart Scheme job placements must:
- Last six months
- Be at least 25 hours per week (employers can top-up wages if the role is over this)

Zero Hours Contract Template
Regular price £247.00This Zero Hours Contract is ideal when you need a casual worker or Intern on a flexible basis i.e. for ad hoc or seasonal work.
Essentially this is a contract with no guaranteed hours (zero hours). You simply offer them work, when you have it, and pay them for the hours they work, but by law they don't have to accept the work you offer. This person would usually be on your payroll (PAYE).
Examples of work that might require a zero-hour contract might include:
- Bank work (for example, for the NHS)
- Students or interns who can only work during university holidays

Probation Bundle
Regular price £297.00When you hire an employee, it's a good idea to include a probationary period to make sure it's a good match 😍
If it turns out that your new employee has lied/exaggerated some qualifications or responsibilities and you find they are not up to the job, the probation period protects you from being left with an underperforming or unsatisfactory member of staff.
If it's going If it turns out that the person you’ve employed fails to meet expectations and you deem them unsuitable for the role, then the trial period gives you a safety net and allows you to terminate their employment within the framework of probation, with more ease (for a fair reason).

To either end their employment (if things are really bad) or to extend the probation period, to give them more time to improve. Either way, you should aim to give them the feedback and time to achieve the required improvement, with adequate support and training. It should never come as a complete shock (that's not very nice).

THE LEGAL BIT
For the purposes of the Fixed-term Employees (Prevention of Less Favourable Treatment) Regulations 2002 (SI 2002/2034), a fixed-term employee is one employed under a contract of employment that will terminate on:
- The expiry of a specific term e.g. 6-months;
- The completion of a particular project or task; or
Where an employee has been continuously employed on a series of successive fixed-term contracts for four years or more, they will automatically achieve permanent status, unless there is an objective reason that justifies a further renewal for a fixed term.

Letter to Terminate (End) a Contractor Agreement

You can’t use them forever though – otherwise HMRC could be on your back for IR35 (where they think you have a disguised employee)!
